I’m the only administrator in my NHS dept - and have been made redundant

Just been made redundant from my NHS post in a major London teaching hospital.  The NHS Trust I work for has to make £70 million cuts over the next two years.  So far 450 jobs have gone.,  My department has to make a 35% cut this year in this alone.  I am the only administrator in my dept (where I’ve been for twelve years) so my team of 6 professionals will be left without any admin backup.  To say this will not affect frontline services is a nonsense.  Patient care will undoubtedly be affected, as wlll existing staff who will be under pressure to cover areas where jobs have been axed.

Before the election David Cameron promised he would “cut the deficit, not the NHS.”  The Coalition promised the NHS was “ring-fenced.”

It seems they’ll say anything to get elected.
