Now, in my 60s, I lie awake at night worrying about how I am going to pay the bills

Now, in my 60s, I lie awake at night worrying about how I am going to pay the bills

I am a freelancer and home-based craftsperson. My income from the first has shrunk considerably as firms take more freelance work in-house and rather than growing my home business it too is shrinking as people are not spending money on non-essentials.

My small pension does not pay the bills, so now, in my 60s, I lie awake at night worrying about how I am going to pay the Council Tax, my tax bill from last year and my road tax.

Whilst the government takes money away from those that might pay me, I worry about how I can pay the government.

Ironic.
