How will my colleague work once her daughters’ after-school club has closed?

My colleague employed full time is a single parent with two daughters reliant on her local after school club for childcare until she finishes work.  This club is now being closed as a result of budget cuts and she doesn’t know how she will be able to carry on working.  This means that she will probably have to stop work and claim benefits.  As result, she loses out, her children lose out, the local community loses out, the Treasury loses out and finally so do we.  Cuts just don’t add up.
