University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust is set to cut the equivalent of just under 1,349 full-time staff between 2010 and 2015.

The figures are estimates by the Trust and could change over time, although radical changes are unlikely. The breakdown of staff cuts in 2010/11 is unclear, but from 2011 to 2015 the cuts break down as follows:

Medical and dental - 156.67 FTE (full-time equivalent staff)
Nursing and midwifery - 688.05 FTE
Other clinical - 140.2 FTE
Other - 363.74 FTE

The Trust runs three hospital sites in Stoke-on-Trent - North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, City General, and Central Outpatients. A new hospital will open in 2012.

Hospital morale is really low

This month many of the staff have been given a prospectus of jobs at the new hospital that replaces the infirmary, outpatients and other departments   Moral is really low as hours have been cut reducing some pay packets by 1/3 or more   Heaven knows how a man with a family will survive on these cuts.
