Charity. Relationship, family and youth counselling services and parenting and emotional literacy training programmes. The council funding subsidised counselling sessions for those who could not afford the full cost.Local authority funding cut: £4,725. Details: Received £4,725 in 2010/11; no funding in 2011/12.The council’s EIA says: ‘Relate have indicated in a letter to the Council of 27 October 2010 that without funding from the Council they will not be able to provide any subsidised counselling sessions and will have to charge the full cost of £50 per session, which many will not be able to afford. This will mean that the services Relate provide will only be available for those that can afford to pay – an inequality for people of low socio-economic status.’
