Cuts

PACE LGBT Youth Groups (London) N7

Weekly youth groups and specialist social support services for LGBT young people under 26 have all been hit by cuts to local authority and PCT funding.  Some of London’s best known LGBT support services for ‘at risk’ young adults have closed after 14 years. From May 2011, London charity PACE (http://www.pacehealth.org.uk) can only afford maintain support for vulnerable youngsters aged under 19’s due to complete withdrawal of funding from Haringey, Enfield and Barnet PCT and Councils.

Weekly support, HIV prevention and sexual heath screening, counselling, groups and workshops, suicide prevention and mental health sign-posting and referral are no longer offered to young people aged 20-26.
