Barts and The London NHS Trust is consulting on a reduction of 635 full-time eqiuvalent staff - 8.6 percent of current staffing levels.

The breakdown of the reduction is as follows (figures in full-time equivalent):

* Nursing - 258
* Imaging - 20
* Pharmacy - 18
* Pathology - 34
* Physics - 11
* Admin and Clerical - 220
* Corporate -  74

The Trust hopes to implement the reduction through natural turnover, but compulsory redundancies cannot be ruled out. The reduction will be spread across the Trust’s hospitals.

The Trust runs three hospitals in London - St Bartholomew’s (known as Barts) by St Paul’s in the City, The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, and The London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green.
