Welcome Nick Clegg to the LGA Conference B1

When: Wednesday 29 June 2011, 8:00am

Where: ICC, Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2AA

The local government conference is at the ICC in Birmingham from the 28th-30th June, coinciding with the strike actions.

Delegates from local councils around the country will attend to hear keynote speakers such as Nick Clegg, Andrew Lansley, Eric Pickles and Ed Miliband.

Final details are to be arranged, particularly in co-ordinating with workers striking on the 29th and 30th.
We are intending to leaflet the conference on the 29th waiting for Nick Clegg to arrive to talk in the morning, with actions co-ordinated with Unison council workers who we hope will be on strike.
There may be further leafletting and welcoming sessions on other days.

Nick Clegg should leave this conference with absolutely no doubt how welcome him and the Lib Dems will be when they hold their conference in Birmingham in September (demo: 18th September)
