False Economy research team launches independent news site

Sentinel News will cover similar ground to False Economy, looking at the impact of funding cuts to health, education, care services and benefits

False Economy was a union-funded project set up in 2010 to monitor the impact of public funding cuts, and ran until the 2015 election. The project ended then and has not operated since.

Now, the False Economy research team - Chaminda Jayanetti, Kate Belgrave and Richard Grimes - together with others, have launched a new, independent project: Sentinel News. This will cover some of the same ground as False Economy, looking at the impact of funding cuts to health, education, care services and benefits.

But it will also range more broadly than that - economics, politics, and how these link in with public services and the people they are meant to serve.

Check it out at Sentinel News.
