How Capita boasts of its close relationship with government

As many people will know, Barnet council has begun a massive outsourcing deal with Capita. Called One Barnet, this privatisation deal will see council services outsourced on a major scale. Residents, bloggers, service users and campaigners have long been opposed to this deal and fought the council through the courts to stop it.

Their complaints were ignored and the deal goes ahead.

Now, the council and Capita have published the so-called service delivery method statement that Capita has with Barnet council. It is an extraordinary read.

A helpful someone has pulled out many useful direct quotes from the statement. We're posting a few of the quotes here, because they show just how close companies are to government and officials, and the extent to which these companies exercise their lobbying powers at government level.

This is how private companies operate and this will give you a little insight into their reach.

These are the people who are eyeing up the NHS as we speak.
